Jacques has been showing up to work in the kitchen super early every day now for about a week. So early that I'm usually still in my underwear, pouring the first cup of morning coffee. He shows the promising signs of a really diligent employee. He always has an eye (or two or three or eight, I can't really tell) on what I'm doing.
I am possibly concerned that he's stepped in some molten sugar as he leaves a thin ethereal strand behind him as he wanders around. If he's been burned by it, I hope my worker's compensation insurance will cover him.
I'm thinking Jacques is going to be very handy in the kitchen next week. I'll be needing those extra arms to help me get the Thanksgiving meal to the table. I do hope I can coax him out of the window sill.

What the hell is that and why are you so close to it?
ditto
A Phidippus from the Salticidae family?
Or is a lucky individual getting this as part of the exotic ingredient exchange you're organizing?
OMG What is that?!
I love it!
I would get one for my kitchen too, but I think both husband and dog would be dismayed.
Or maybe husband would be dismayed, dog would eat it.
Either way, probably not a good idea.
Is that a spider???????????????
Havent you ever heard that if you step on a spider it rains????
we are in the middle of a draught here man, SQUASH IT! For the sake of the enviornment! For the sake of the flowers! And the landscapers! Kill Spider Die Die.
Normally, I would just advocate relocating it to the garden, but this draught is affecting my good concious...oh wait...superstitions arent real...you SHOULD relocate it. Then again...its so big, I wonder what it is living on in your kitchen...there must be some monster flys its keeping in check!
happy thanksgiving!
I don't think I could sleep knowing that thing was lurking about.
Jill & Rachael--I try to "relocate" spiders when I can. However, one of these (a type of very fast jumping spider) was discovered a while back in my bedroom and I quickly pounced on it. This little guy is setting up home behind a pane of riot glass so I sleep comfortably.
Joanne--Very good! Although, I had to look up pictures to learn that.
KT--I learned that they bite too, so I'd let hubby and doggie have their way.
I discovered after writing my comment that they jump, and I promptly took it all back.
I am okay with fuzzy spiders, but I am NOT okay with any insect/arachnid that jumps. Especially if it's fast.
It's got to go.
That is seriously creepy. Just keep in mind that at work, I'm the chick that even menfolk come to when they need a nasty bug removed.
